SCENOGRAPHIA

SCENOGRAPHIA AT MERCHANDISE MART

TEAM ND

I was selected to lead the only student team at the inaugural Scenographia, hosted at the Merchandise Mart. My classmates Noah Legare, Carl Kurtz, and I designed an original cappricio depicting Chicago architecture of the past and the present and completed the 9.5’ x 12’ mural live in the Pella Luxury Craft Showroom. The mural was donated to the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture in January of 2020 and is on display in the Walsh Family Hall of Architecture.

FURTHER INVOVLEMENT

Scenographia aspires to promote hand drawing as a valuable skill that can be achieved by all individuals, not just those in the architecture and arts community. The organization strives to expand the audience for performance art by hosting live-marathon drawing events in prominent public spaces, fostering an interactive environment that encourages the viewer to participate in the artistic process.

After my involvement in the inaugural Scenographia, I was offered a board member position as Media Director. As Media Director, I develop and maintain the organization’s Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube channels. In November of 2020, I launched the #SceNOVgraphia campaign, which invited individuals at all artistic levels to submit sketches to be featured on our social media pages during the pandemic. I also design and update the Scenographia website, which I launched in July of 2019. I created the website in its entirity including the text, page layouts, and logo to create a brand that embodies our mission to support the traditional arts and bring classicism to a broader audience.

Additionally, I collaborate with the other Scenographia board members to organize events across the country. I was involved in the planning and execution of Scenographia at Treasures from Chatsworth, Scenographia at Craig Bergmann, and Scenographia at Notre Dame. My role included coordinating with local news outlets and sponsors, including the ICAA, to ensure these events garnished support, viewership, and participation from the general public, as well as coordinating logistics and set-up with venues and communicating information and itineraries to participating artists.
